Evaluation

Overall I thought that the project went alright. I feel as if my research went alright and that I could of added to it. I would of done this if I have better access to a computer out-side of college. I thought that my performance (Composition wise) went really well. I had experimented with a genre I have never explored before and I felt that help me create something "new". The feedback also helped as I had people that listened to the genre (LoFi) give me feedback, so that I had the best insight in what to improve as they all had a decent idea of what the genre was. I felt that my performance was a bit lacking as I though, I wasn't active enough when performing, I was just stood still pressing some buttons and that was it. Maybe just to show a better interaction just look around at the audience and move the beat of the song.

Pre-Live Performance

For my performance I had performed what I had practiced what I had created from my ideas and feedback. This performance I thought went well as it all went to plan apart from the fact that everything wasn't balanced properly so quiet parts of the vocals were loud and made the song sound off because the vocals were meant to be quiet. This is an easy fix as all I need to do is take the track and balance everything, and then save the track with the corrections.

Live Performance

This was my live performance. I thought it went really well as everything that I wanted to happen, happened. I didn't go through any mistakes as I balanced everything on the clip launcher so if anything was to be to loud I could quickly adjust the amplitude to the rest of the song. I thought this would make it easier for the person controlling the mixer as I would also have control of what I thought was too Loud. Overall I thought it went really well.

Studio vs Live

Live: A producer known as Marshmello placed the beginning of the song "Silence". And had the whole intro played out until the drop where he started to mix up the original drop from verse to chorus, with a different chorus that he most likely took from another song. He probable done this to be surprising and to build tension as you would never know what the drop will be. He also does some things like add a low filter cut off to speak to the crowd. Not only done with this but done with pretty much every song in his performance as he gates some of his drop to stutter it do fade into another drop/ chorus. He also used other peoples remixes of his own song, and other peoples songs as a drop, but with his own input, i.e is own build up. Marshmello. Equipment for the Performance

iMac (Mouse, Keyboard, Ableton) Midi Keyboard Clip Launcher F.O.H Speakers Table (To place the iMac and equipment) Cable runner (To cover up the wires connecting to the iMac and F.O.H) X.L.R Extension Lead (Not enough length on the wires, so a Extension is required to have it connected) Mixer (To control the amplitude of the performance) Sub woofers (To control any uncontrollable bass, cuts out super low frequencies)

Performance Three

For this I've used the same introduction however changed a lot with the chorus. I've made a more "Full" sounding chorus by making more percussion at the beginning of the chorus. Ive also implemented my idea of layering the vocals and increasing the pitch by +12. I still have introduce a middle verse which took a while to match as the tempo and timing was completely off, because I reloaded it in to Ableton again and had to match it up again with the tempo. After this I managed to have it match perfectly and synced some shakers and tambourines to it. I plan to just have this go straight back into the chorus. Feedback: Seb: I like how you have structured your song as it has clear progression, I also like layered vocals as the high octave sound like an eco of the lower octave, to improve I would make the kick drum more punchy. Lizzie: I like the vocals and how you have transposed the vocals. I also like the harmonising on the vocals where you have mixed high and...
